Frequently asked questions.

Do you have reduced fee places available?

Yes! My practice is designed so that those who can afford to pay more are encouraged to do so, allowing me to open reduced fee places for people who are unwaged or on a low income. These are subject to availability and I have a waitlist if there are none available when you inquire. The cost will depend on what you can genuinely afford.

Do you work with queer people?

Yes. I am a queer psychotherapist and many of the people I work with are queer. I also work with straight people!

How long will we work together?

Sessions can be on a short-term basis, for example if you want to work on a specific issue we can agree a term of 12 sessions. We can also work together long term on an open-ended basis.

What happens if I cancel/can’t make a session?

For my practice to be sustainable, it needs commitment from me and from you - I charge for missed sessions but I will also try to offer you an alternative slot that week if I have one available and you let me know beforehand.

What kinds of people do you work with?

I work with all kinds of people from a variety of different backgrounds with respect to age, race, dis/ability, migration status, religion, class, gender (any/all/none), and sexuality etc. I won’t work with anyone who is in the police.

What areas do you specialise in?

I‘m a psychodynamic therapist - that means that I use the past as well as the present to understand what’s going on for you. I also think about unconscious or you might call them subconscious processes - which means I think about what you’re not saying or thinking too! I work often with complex histories of trauma, especially with queer and trans people and sex workers, and with people that have experienced CSA.

Do you work with drug users?

Yes. I have lots of experience working as a psychotherapist with people who use drugs. I understand substance use to be a way of coping with difficult aspects of life, or to be recreational, or perhaps a mix of both.

What’s your stance on Palestine?

I am an anti-oppressive therapist in a multi-cultural area of London and I believe in international solidarity. I support freedom for Palestine totally and without exception.
